We have been is business at our
location on 6804 Torresdale Ave for over 2+ years now. We are buy, sell
and trade and are very competitive when it comes to our pricing and
buying offers.
We offer disc cleaning and electronics repair services.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Question: How much do you charge to clean my disc? Answer: $2 per disc however we do offer discounts for bulk cleanings.
Question: How quick do you clean my disc/discs? Answer:
We generally clean your disc immediately. If you are bringing in 1
disc we strive to have your disc cleaned within 10 minutes. If you are
cleaning under 50 discs we do our best to have your discs done within 24
hours. 50+ discs turnover time may vary although we do our best to
have your discs cleaned ASAP.
Question: How will my disc play after being cleaned and will it look new? Answer:
We cannot guarantee the disc will play perfectly however in the
majority of cases the disc can be brought back to the original playable
condition as when it was bought new. Most discs we clean look brand new
after being cleaned. Your disc may vary as each disc will be
different.
Question: Can you get my CD looking brand new? Answer:
In some cases with CDs they may not be 100% repairable. One way to
check and see if the disc will not be perfectly repairable is to hold
the disc up to light facing the label side towards you. If you can see
holes/scratches in the label side of the disc you may not be able to
fully repair the disc. Deep scratches/gouges/nicks also may not be
fully repairable. This does not mean the disc will not play or skip, it
just means there may be noticeable marks still on the disc after it has
been cleaned.
Question: Do you accept any other payments other then cash or credit? Answer:
Besides cash and credit we also accept usable CDs, DVDs and Video
Games. While we are very flexible when it comes to trading inventory
for disc cleanings we do reserve the right to reject items or limit
quantities of certain items. For more info feel free to send a message
to: fivedollarcd@yahoo.com or call (215) 941-6650.
Question: Why use your service versus buying my own disc cleaning machine? Answer:
This is a very complicated question however there are a few short
simple answers to this. Time equals money and the time it takes to
clean discs can be very labor intensive and expensive. The more discs
you need to clean the more time you will spend which could be used
towards sourcing inventory or spending time productively towards making
more money. The costs of a machine can be a very expensive upfront cost
as well as the supplies and maintenance. We use the industries best
machines available for the perfect looking disc. You are taking of
advantage of our ability to clean discs with top of the line machines at
a very low cost.
Question: How does it work when it comes to trading inventory for disc cleanings? Answer:
Rather then paying in cash for disc cleanings we offer the option to
pay with your own merchandise. For instance if you need 100 discs
cleaned we generally charge $100. This $100 fee can be payed with $100
in Amazon inventory. For instance if you have 5 video games valued at
$20 each on Amazon we accept these 5 games as payment rather then $100
in cash. Whether it is a few valuable video games you would like to
trade or 100 "penny" DVDs on Amazon a trade can be arranged. We do
reserve the right to turn down a trade or deem items as not being of
enough value but we are generally pretty flexible.
Question: So I can trade you my old scratched CDs for disc cleanings? Answer:
It depends. Each situation will vary. CDs are generally tougher to
repair therefore it's recommended that you only send CDs if the discs
are unscratched. In some situations we offer only 5 cents per disc if
the discs are scratched to the point of no return. On the other hand we
do accept scratched DVDs as these ca n generally be repaired in the
majority of situations. Video Games are our main preference as these
are our best sellers however you can feel free to propose any items for
trade.
Question: How do I know how much my items are worth? Answer:
Go to Amazon.com and either scan your item or type in the name of the
item. From there check the lowest used price. We do not pay new prices
for any merchandise.
Question: What if the lowest used price is based off an item in Acceptable Condition on Amazon? Answer:
Although your merchandise may be in better condition then the item with
the lowest used price we still base our price on the lowest used
price. We do make exceptions and are reasonable however we cannot
guarantee that we will make an exception on every item.
Question: Do you clean Gamecube and Double Sided discs? Answer:
Yes we do clean both discs. With double sides discs we cannot
guarantee that inner label will be perfectly in tact as some of our
cleaning pads shave off part of the inner label so keep that in mind
before sending these in.
Question: Do you charge more for double sided discs? Answer:
As of right now we only charge for one cleaning on a double sided
disc. If our volume increases in the future we may change this rule
however we will let you know if we are charging more for this service.
Please keep in mind it does cost us double in cleaning supplies to clean
these discs as well as more time to safely wipe these discs down.
Question: Do I need to separate my Video Games from CDs, DVDs? Answer:
You do not need to separate anything other then double sided discs and
Gamecube games. We prefer that double sided discs be either separated
or moved to the top of the discs. Gamecube discs need to be separated
as these need a special adapter to clean these discs.
Question: My disc is extremely scratched, if it is not worth cleaning will you still charge me? Answer:
We visually inspect discs before cleaning them. If your discs are
questionable before cleaning we will do our best to get in contact with
you to inform you of the situation and see if you want the disc/discs
cleaned.
Question: My disc was cleaned however it is not in perfect condition, what gives? Answer:
Some discs will not be fully repairable even with multiple cleanings.
In most cases we will do our best to test the quality of your disc as
well as let you know if may have potential issues that will prevent it
from playing perfectly.
Question: Should I send my discs in their cases/boxes? Answer:
While we have no preference on how you send the discs to us we do
recommend sending your discs in a spindle/cake box as this will lighten
the weight of your box keeping shipping costs down.
Question: Who pays for shipping? Answer:
You pay for shipping to and from. We can work out a deal so that there
is no cash involved however you will need to contact us so we can
approve this.
Question: Do you offer insurance or replace discs if they are lost or damaged. Answer:
We recommend purchasing some sort of insurance when sending your discs
in however in 99% of our cases insurance is not necessary. We do not
offer reimbursal for lost discs. In the case of damaged discs we will
offer to pay for the cost of the disc based on the Amazon value with a
maximum payout of $10 per disc. If trading for inventory we will
reimburse for the cost of the item however we do reserve the right to
limit this number. We have not currently had any issues with damaged or
lost discs however we will do our best to accommodate you and leave you satisfied.
Question: Is this service reliable and how do we know you can be trusted? Answer: Feel free to check our Amazon store to get an idea of our feedback www.amazon.com/shops/fivedollarcd
We
keep a 98% positive feedback rate. We can also give you references of
past customers to get an idea of their level of satisfaction.
